HISTORY.
The man's history is simple, despite its length. Adopted by an older couple that ran a small corner store, young Jakkya grew up in a less desirable part of the city rife with crime. But he grew quickly, and by the time he was ten he became the shop's impromptu security. Though still a child, he was almost his adult height and with a steel pipe in hand, deterred all but the most determined burglars.Raised on the beliefs of his deeply religious and Royalist parents, there was one thing young Koh'sae knew he wanted to be when he grew up- a member of the Sultansworn. Though his parents were amused, they were nonetheless touched and supported his dream. By his late teens, young Koh'sae was properly enlisted and doing what he was meant to do. Supposedly. He wore the armor well, and solemnly carried out his duties. He was satisfied for a time, protecting the peace and providing for his parents' retirement with his earnings. Yet when the Immortal Flames were resurrected, he found himself following the Sultana's chosen into its wings where he was assigned the position of Sergeant First Class. Now protecting and serving the city, Koh'sae was again content. Supposedly. After Carteneau, however, he opted not to renew his contract. Though the structure provided by both organizations was a welcome addition to his life, bitterness had begun to brew within. As he whittled away the days until his honorable discharge, planning to learn a trade and settle down to help care for his now very elderly parents, he met an odd traveler from across the sea. Sporting two blades and a creed to hunt unusually powerful monsters that threatened the people, Koh'sae felt himself pulled once again to that cause. To roam freely, protecting whomever he wished? It sounded profoundly satisfying. After making arrangements for his parents to be looked after, Koh'sae at long last found himself leaving the city he'd sworn himself to for the better part of three decades. Lost in the freedom now provided to him, he's still not sure he's taken the right path. But he's willing to try.

Dissatisfaction.
While his true reasons for leaving the service of both the Sultansworn and the Immortal Flames were kept secret from his superiors, the Miqo'te knows well why he left. Even now, as an adventurer, he doesn't seem particularly content.Adventurer in Need
While not particularly famous, Jakkya is decently well known around Ul'dah due to his history. Adventurers may have heard of an overly serious Miqo'te known for fulfilling his requests to the exact letter. No matter how dangerous or tedious the request seems, he will fill it. Of particular note is his reputation for not caring for either fame or wealth, making him popular among the smallfolk despite his stony demeanor.Duty Above All
The freedom provided by an adventurer's life has unintentionally caused Jakkya to start looking at things differently. In particular, his home city of Ul'dah has begun to conflict with the man's incessant urge to "do the right thing." Once someone who served the law, Jakkya now wonders who it really is that the law serves...
ooc.
Hello, I'm Dean.I'm a guy in his thirties who likes to yap about his OCs, and who doesn't understand graphic design. Please don't ask me about the FFXIV timeline. I don't know and at this point I'm too afraid to ask. It's just something like Sultansworn (late teens to early thirties) to Immortal Flames (early thirties to age forty) and then adventurer. I'm not exactly sure how old the Flames are due to not being exactly clear how much time has passed since Raubahn has been 37 (lol), so if you do, please let me know.Moving on, I have a no tolerance policy for intentional bigotry such as homophobia, transphobia, racism and ableism. I understand that people aren't born knowing everything and that mistakes will be made; as long as people are willing to learn and approach topics in good faith, I'm chill.I do not enjoy IC surprises. I understand taking a defensive stance against metagaming, but I have no desire to plot with a character only to find out there is something in their backstory that is firmly on my "do not want to RP with" list. If you prefer to deliver IC surprises, it is best we do not do in-depth roleplay.I strongly prefer RPing with low powered, "dirt farmer" type characters, characters who would not be out of place as a quest or job NPC— basically, the everyday folks of the XIV world. I love exploring the game's various settings and the ways the average person lives their lives within. Jakkya is a bit more flexible on this, though, because he's so unshakable. But it all depends on the themes.I'm most available on Discord, but am available in game as well by appointment.Thank you for reading, and please let me know if this site is inaccessible.⋇ Contact
